Every year since 2012 Nutrition and Hydration week has taken place in March, its main purpose being to create energy, focus and fun in order to highlight and educate people on the value of food and drink in maintaining health and wellbeing in health and social care.
Over the course of the week the activity team at Malsis Hall promoted the importance of good hydration and what types of food could also boost your water intake, and they set up hydration stations around the service.
On Wednesday 19th March everyone was invited to a global tea party and indulged in an afternoon tea style lunch with lots of delicious treats and Hayley (Activity Coordinator) made some homemade Pimm’s which got 10 out 10 marks from Service Users.
‘Fruity Friday’ saw lots of fresh fruit being delivered to Service Users and staff and new fruit bowls being placed in each dining room for Service Users to help themselves to as they wish alongside the hydration stations.
