Lesley initially trained as a Learning Disability Nurse and helped to develop the Community Learning Disability Nursing service in North Derbyshire, before taking on the role of a Lecturer Practitioner, teaching on the BA (Hons) Community Nursing Course at Sheffield Hallam University.
Nursing, teaching, research, service development and improving quality has always been her passion and she found her ‘dream job’ as a Nurse Consultant in 2003, which included all of these key aspects in her role. Her experience as a Nurse Consultant for Safeguarding and as an Independent Nurse Consultant in recent years has provided additional knowledge and expertise which underpins her current role as Quality Assurance Lead for Malsis Hall. Her proudest achievements to date include setting up the BSC (Hons) Nursing (Learning Disability) and Social Work Course on behalf of Sheffield Hallam University, promoting pain management for people with learning disabilities and improving epilepsy services.
Lesley stated ‘’it is an exciting time to be part of the Senior Management Team at Malsis Hall and we will work hard to ensure the care and support we deliver to our Service Users is of the highest quality and our staff are well trained and supported”.
