The ECHO Group is pleased to announce that, in partnership with family-owned builder Seddon Group, we are to develop a much-needed facility in Stafford.
The development, in Hawksmoor Road, will comprise a six-bed care home for adults with a learning disability, which will be up and running by early 2023.
We are creating this accommodation as a direct result of discussions with local commissioners and to help meet the need for this type of facility in Stafford.
Employing about 20 people, it will give much-needed options to service users and their families and will allow them to remain in the area or move back to the area.
As with all our services, the focus will be on working with each individual and their families to ensure that their needs and aspirations are met by drawing up and implementing personalised support plans which reflect their assessed needs.
This involves setting priorities and embracing all aspects of daily living including personal care, managing finances, learning new skills, recreational, educational, volunteering and work-based opportunities, and regular contact with family and friends as well as groups and people in the surrounding community.
Sharena Record, regional operations director for the Midlands at ECHO, said: “This latest development by ECHO will provide a much-needed facility in the heart of the Stafford community that will allow people, who need the care and support we provide, to stay in their local area.
“We are working closely with local commissioners to shape a service that will support the personalised needs of service users to enable them to lead independent, fulfilling lives.
“Our ethos is to encourage people to take control of their lives and believe in their own potential with the aim of creating positive outcomes for all who use our service.”
